What Is Gas Loop Calibration?

Gas loop calibration uses a closed-loop flow system with a precision reference standard to verify and adjust flow meter output. Flow is generated at controlled conditions, passed through the meter under test, and compared against the reference. Any deviation is corrected and documented in a calibration certificate.

Gas loop calibration is the preferred method for thermal mass flow meters and gas-service Coriolis and vortex meters because it replicates actual operating conditions — using the same gas, pressure, and temperature ranges the meter will see in the field.
